Starting in 2003, Floto was established by Joe Floto after he returned from Italy with a leather travel bag and received numerous compliments on it everywhere he went. Specializing in Italian hand stained leather, our products are metal free, sustainable, and safe for people. This traditional Tuscan tanning method creates colorful leather that is easy to work with and ages beautifully.

Our Tortona Backpack features comfortable shoulder straps, cargo pockets, and umbrella straps. The Livorno Backpack is made from semi-gloss full grain leather and comes in four colors. The Milano Pack is a popular choice for its slim, lightweight design with a good capacity. We also offer matching wallets made from the same leather as our backpacks.

A typical day at Floto involves a leather bag passing through 28 work benches at our Florence factory, including cutting, gluing, stitching, and more. We take pride in our work, enjoying a balance of hard work and appreciation for life. Our bags are handcrafted in Italy with a mission to create superior leather goods using old world craft methods.

The Livorno Backpack is made from full grain calfskin leather with a brass zipper and a durable cotton duck canvas lining. The Italian vegetable tanned leather develops a rich patina over time, while the semi-gloss finish helps prevent stains. It features various pockets and a magnetic flap closure, all handcrafted in Italy by skilled artisans using sustainable tanning methods.
